Atiku Abubakar, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for president in 2023, has left the country to run political campaigns in the United States ahead of the coming elections.
Atiku traveled to the United States in 2018 with the former Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, and others, despite speculation that he would be unable to do so.
The visit to the United States dispelled any suspicions that Atiku could not travel there.
Atiku will begin a week-long electioneering campaign in the United States, where he will meet Nigerians and businesspeople.
Atiku would meet with Nigerians living in the Diaspora and PDP members in North America as part of his US programs and engagements.
In addition, he would meet with prominent Nigerian businesspeople based in the United States and later with young Nigerian professionals in the diaspora.
Three weeks ago, Atiku began his electioneering campaign in Akwa Ibom State’s Uyo. The campaign in Kaduna followed, and on Saturday, another campaign was held in Benin, the capital of Edo State.
On Monday, Atiku is expected to return to the country. On Tuesday, November 1, 2022, Ekiti State would be Atiku’s turn, and the campaign rally in Ondo State would take place on Wednesday, November 2.
