The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has located election materials in the homes of some individuals, including politicians, indicating that the ongoing investigation into the alleged proliferation of Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) in the nation is apparently paying off.
Following reports of the discovery of stacks of printed PVCs buried in the ground and drainages, some of which were even dumped in bushes across the country, security personnel carried out sting operations that led to this.
The improvement has started new worries among Nigerians about supposed plot to fix the 2023 general political race.
Videos showing the discovery of thousands of PVCs hidden underground or dumped in trash cans and the streets have been trending on social media in recent months.
The recent confirmation of the development by INEC, which stated that it had reported the incidents of the proliferation of PVCs to the Nigerian Police and other security agencies for further investigation and action, was made in an effort to calm agitated nerves.
According to LEADERSHIP, The commission also promised that the investigation’s conclusion would be made public.
