Sampson Igwe, the national president of The Apostolic Church Nigeria, has urged Nigerians, particularly Christians, to vote based on their conscience in the upcoming general election.
At the 19th national convention of the church, which began on November 23 and ended on November 27 with special prayers for the nation, Igwe made the call during the inauguration of the new leadership of The Apostolic Church Nigeria FCT Field, led by Pastor Ime Udoinyang.
According to LEADERSHIP, The cleric also urged voters to examine each candidate’s manifestos carefully and make their decision without regard to religion or ethnicity.
“As the 2023 election approaches, it is for us as Nigerians to vote with wisdom and conscience. Christians should know that this is the time to play their role as Christians in the general elections.
“I know many Christians are not happy with the way things are going presently in the country, but they cannot continue with that thought, they should go and vote according to their conscience for the person they believe in making this nation better and that will give us the result we need,” he said.
