Aero Contractor is scheduled to resume commercial flight operations on Monday, December 5th, 2022, five months after ceasing operations due to the financial crisis.
According to LEADERSHIP, Aero Contractor management halted flight operations on July 18 due to the impact of the challenging environment on the company’s day-to-day operations.
Aero stated that the majority of its aircraft were undergoing maintenance, making it impossible to provide customers with effective service.
However, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) director general, Capt.Musa Nuhu stated that the airline has been granted permission to resume commercial operations and that, as far as the authority is concerned, flight service can resume.
Nuhu went on to say that the airline was grounded for a minor financial crisis rather than safety concerns.
He said: “Aero Contractors was not grounded based on safety issues, we did an audit on them because whatever audit you do, you have findings and they were all minor findings. There were no Level 1, 2, 3 findings. They were very insignificant. We notified them. We audited them and we found out that the issue they had was finance sustainability.
