One of the company’s most important global initiatives for ICT innovation and development is the Huawei Developer Competition.Themed Flash Boundlessness, the current year’s opposition urged African cloud designers to track down original answers for genuine issues.Over 130 teams from businesses, college students, and independent developers from Southern Africa participated in the first phase, which lasted four months.
Roc Bai, the vice president of Huawei Cloud Southern Africa, stated this during his remarks at the lively awards ceremony for the competition, which was held at Huawei’s Johannesburg campus: “The HDC encourages developers to give full play to their imagination and innovative spirit, by using ICT technologies to solve practical problems and create unlimited value. We were very impressed by the caliber of entries and all six teams who reached the final phase delivered outstanding projects, each worthy in their own merit.”
According to Leadership Newspaper, Huawei devices and cash prizes were awarded to the six finalists. Spark Money, from Kenya, won $10,000 and a Huawei MatePad for each team member. The Tanzanian team NAC won second place and an $8000 prize. Malcam Solutions, Astel Systems, and Innovo Networks, all from South Africa, came in third, and each team won $500 and a Huawei Watch Fit for its members. Nigeria’s Team Maverick took home the $2000 Cloud Ace Award.
