I killed over 15 persons in Katsina — 28-yr-old terrorist confesses
Suleiman Iliyasu, a 28-year-old resident of Walawa Asaurara, Sabuwar Ungwa, and Jibiia LGA in Katsina State, has admitted to killing more than 15 people in various banditry incidents around the state.
Iliyasu, also known as Yar’bushiya, confessed while being led before the media on Tuesday at the Katsina Police Command Headquarters.
Upon introducing the suspect, the Command’s spokeswoman SP Gambo Isah stated, “Yar’bushiya was apprehended by the Area Commander, Dutsinma a few days back for several acts related to terrorism.
“The suspect had participated in several armed robberies, kidnappings and cattle rustling across the state,” Gambo said
Yar’bushiya also admitted to being a member of the “Dankarami” terrorist organization, a prominent terrorist leader who is wanted by the police for committing crimes against humanity in the states of Katsina, Zamfara, Kaduna, Kebbi, and Sokoto.
The suspect further admitted that he has been a bandit for the past three years and has taken part in various attacks in the Katsina State local government areas of Sabuwar Dandume, Faskari, Jibia, Batsari, and Kurfi.
Yar’bushiya, who begged for mercy, vowed that if he is spared, he will never engage in banditry once more.
