When alleged Fulani militiamen raided Fass and Wereng-Camp in Riyom LGA Plateau State, two deaths were recorded and three injuries.
According to a statement made in Jos by Dalyop Solomon Mwantiri of the Emancipation Centre for Crisis Victims in Nigeria (ECCV), the militias were spotted in Wareng when they were out grazing, flaunting highly developed weapons and setting up ambushes to kill anyone they came across.
He claims that the incident took place at 4:43 pm when armed Fulani gunmen entered Wereng-Camp while driving their livestock out for grazing.
“We became very apprehensive of another armed attack, which lasted for almost an hour before another group went and attacked Wereng Community at about 7:00pm, resulting to the killing of Chuwang Boyi, Amos Dung, while Mr. Yohanna Pam and one other person were injured in the process.
In the meantime, unidentified gunmen ambushed and knocked Mr. Bulus Bakwet of Tahoe Community of Riyom LGA unconscious. He was sent urgently to Vom Christian Hospital for treatment.
