The court viewed him to be blameworthy of the charges brought against him by the state government.
The examiner had blamed Awaye for committing the offenses on June 2, 2021, at Agbawaye Road, Order Area of Agbado Oke-Odo in Lagos.
The charges depended on the arrangements of Areas 127 and 261 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.
In her judgment, Equity Soladoye said the arraignment demonstrated the elements of the two-count charge of pollution and rape as a detriment for the respondent.
The adjudicator held that the survivor was clear and unambiguous while giving her proof under the steady gaze of the court, noticing that her declaration confirmed that of other indictment witnesses.
“The indictment witness one (the survivor) affirmed under the steady gaze of this court that she was at her grandma’s place when her companion, Rofiat, told her that her sister sent for her.
“The observer portrayed that when she arrived at the spot, she didn’t meet her sister however saw the respondent, who pushed her on the mat and sodomized with her.
“The proof of the respondent is bound with lies, as he attempted to segregate himself from the offense by saying the mother of the survivor attempted to have a sexual relationship with him. To this court’s brain, the arraignment witnesses were honest in their declarations and their proof were verified.”
The appointed authority, upon proof under the steady gaze of the court, viewed Awaye to be unquestionablyblameworthy of the two-count charge.
“The survivor recognized the litigant as the one who contaminated her while she was 13 years of age.
The litigant is thusly viewed as blameworthy and is condemned to life detainment on every one of the two counts.
