According to US President Joe Biden, the US and China will restore military-to-military communication after a long period of radio quiet.
Biden said this to reporters during a long-awaited face-to-face meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping. The meeting took place on the margins of the current summit in Filoli Estate, San Francisco, California, USA. The 30th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders’ Meeting began on November 14 and will conclude on November 17.
The move was “critically important,” according to the US president.
“We are resuming military-to-military direct contact… (which had) been cut off, which was concerning.”
“That’s how accidents happen,” Biden told reporters in San Francisco.
“We’re back to direct, open, clear, direct communications,” stated Vice President Joe Biden.
“Vital errors on either side.””A country like China, or any other major country, can cause real, real trouble,” he warned.
