The Tiv Cultural and Social Association (TCSA) of Taraba state has strongly criticized the state government for failing to find a long-term solution to the recurring Tiv-Jukun crisis since April 1, 2019.
They expressed deep concern about the ongoing conflict between the Tiv and Jukun communities in Southern Taraba while briefing journalists at a world press conference in the state capital on Monday.
The group that highlighted the plight of internally displaced persons (IDPs) called for immediate government intervention.
They raised concerns about returning IDPs facing threats and harassment, casting doubt on the long-term viability of the peace.

The TCSA expressed concern about the alleged partiality of the Nigerian army, accusing them of obstructing IDPs’ return to their homes.
They have identified specific villages as being under military control, including Tor Musa, Tor Lorshagher, Daa, and Ikyernum, among others.
The TCSA urged the Chief of Army Staff to investigate their allegations, take decisive action, and deploy neutral army officers to protect returning IDPs.
The association also requested government assistance, relief supplies, and increased security for returning displaced persons.
