On March 15, the Air Component of Operation Whirl Punch, or OPWP, destroyed the terrorists’ Palele, near Shiroro, logistics storage facility.
AVM The airstrike east of Palele, Niger, was carried out after it was confirmed that there was an armaments cache there, according to a statement made on Tuesday in Abuja by Edward Gabkwet, Director of Public Relations and Information for the Nigerian Air Force (NAF).
He said that the operation was carried out quickly and precisely, causing substantial damage to the intended location as well as a follow-up explosion that verified the destruction of weapons and ammunition.
He claims that the firearms are thought to be a part of a wanted terrorist’s stockpile.
Without a doubt, these strikes have diminished the capacity of terrorist groups active in the area to harm defenseless civilians particularly in the states of Niger and Kaduna.
“Through improved situational awareness, ongoing patrols, and targeted interdiction of terrorists’ safe-havens, the NAF and other surface forces will continue to maintain dominance over areas of concern,” he continued.
Gabkwet made a plea to the public for assistance and information regarding the activities of terrorists and other criminal elements so that swift action could be taken.
