In the Ojo neighborhood of Lagos, the Lagos State Police Command discovered some bags containing materials thought to be Indian hemp at a pier.
In relation to the event, one person was taken into custody.
SP Benjamin Hundeyin, a spokesman for the command, told reporters about the development on Friday.
He stated that while on morning patrol in the Ajangbadi neighborhood on Wednesday, at approximately 4.30 a.m., detectives from the tactical squad, Ijaniki, discovered the narcotics.
The tactical team, according to Hundeyin, followed a single white Mercedes-Benz mini truck to the Ilufe Waterside Jetty at Alaba International, Ojo.
He claimed that the agents found that a significant amount of materials that seemed to be Indian hemp were being offloaded from a flying boat in sacks.
“One suspect, identified only as 43,alleged to be the driver of the truck, was arrested. A total of 1,040 wraps of substances suspected to be Indian Hemp in 30 sacks were recovered. “The suspect alleged that one man, simply identified as Ifeanyi, contacted him to convey the substances from Waterside Jetty to Alaba International Market, Ojo, in Lagos.
