For the eighth time, Qatar Airways has been crowned the World’s Best Airline by Skytrax, known as the Oscars of commercial aviation. This recognition highlights the exceptional quality of service provided by Qatar Airways’ modern fleet, marking a significant achievement in the airline’s history.
Skytrax CEO Edward Plaisted praised Qatar Airways, saying, “This is a remarkable achievement for Qatar Airways to win this World’s Best Airline title for 2024, the eighth time they have triumphed. We congratulate Qatar Airways on this success which should be a source of great pride and satisfaction for the airline management and staff.”
Qatar Airways has built a robust reputation over the past decade, with Hamad International Airport becoming a global aviation hub, competing with regional giants like Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The airline’s fleet includes A380 superjumbos, Boeing 777-300ERs, Boeing 787-8s and 787-9s, Airbus A350-900s, and A350-1000s, along with smaller jets.
Qatar Airways CEO Badr Mohammed Al-Meer expressed pride in receiving the award, stating, “This award is testimony to our relentless dedication to providing unparalleled service and innovation. We look forward to more wins in the future.”
Qatar Airways narrowly beat Singapore Airlines, which took second place. The votes, collected from over 21 million customers across 100 countries and 350 airlines, were the closest since the awards began in 1999, necessitating a recount.
