Sergio Agüero, a former striker for Manchester City, will participate in The Soccer Tournament this summer. It’s a 7-on-7, $1 million, winner-take-all competition.
The competition will take place in Cary, North Carolina, from June 5–10.
“We are thrilled to have Sergio and his group join us on the field this year.
He’s not just among the greatest players of all time, but he’s also among the greatest rivals ever.
According to a statement from TST founder and CEO Jon Mugar, “He’s coming to Cary to have fun and compete, which is exactly what TST is all about.”
Agüero, 35, relocated to Barcelona and retired in 2021.
The Argentine had to hang up his boots after getting replaced during a game against Alavés due to chest pains.
