A former Minister of Power and Steel, Dr Olu Agunloye, on Monday, in Abuja has asked the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, to prohibit the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, from prosecuting him in the alleged $6 billion fraud.
Agunloye, who was placed being investigated by the counter debasement office on the asserted $6bn Mambilla Hydroelectric Power Station misrepresentation, is guaranteeing that EFCC coming up short on ability to continue with the preliminary.
He predicated his resistance to preliminary by EFCC on different grounds in his movement on notice for primer protests.
In the protest notice documented by a Senior Backer of Nigeria SAN, Adeola Adedipe for his benefit, Agunloye demanded that the EFCC needed both analytical and legal powers under Segments 6, 7 and 46 of the Monetary and Monetary Violations Commission Act, 2004.
He likewise said the supposed offenses in the charge were on his exercises as a public official, where he was claimed to have granted the agreement without monetary arrangement, endorsement and money backing.

At Monday’s procedures, the previous Pastor, through his advice, looked to move the movement for fundamental protests.
The move was, nonetheless, went against by EFCC in light of the fact that the movement was not yet ready for hearing.

Agunloye was similarly affirmed to have, on August 10, 2019, corruptly got the amount of N3.6m from Dawn Power and Transmission Organization Restricted and Leno Adesanya for having conveyed the ‘endorsement of the Public authority of the Government Republic of Nigeria for the development of the 3,960 megawatts Mambilla Hydroelectric Power Station’ for SPTCL, which was managed without the endorsement of the Administrative Leader Chamber.
