Atiku Abubakar’s win in the general elections in February will be enough medicine, according to Prof. Obiora Okonkwo, Director General (DG) of the Atiku-Okowa presidential campaign in Anambra State, to calm the South East and bring the nation back to stability.
This was said by Okonkwo yesterday in Awka, Anambra State, during a speech to the Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC), which was attended by more than 160 Atiku support organizations.
The Anambra PDP leader insisted that as soon as Atiku is elected president of Nigeria, insecurity throughout the country, particularly in the South East, will vanish.
He urged increased backing for PDP presidential candidate Atiku, saying that he would reorganize the country from day one and solidify our democracy.
Okonkwo reminded them that true federalism and a liberalized economy, which Atiku has made a central theme of his campaign and agenda, are what are most important for the area at this time.
He claims that an Igbo president of South Eastern descent is within reach given the right strategic planning and alliance-building with other groups.
“The government’s failure to solve national concerns has continued to endanger the country’s unity and have an adverse effect on the economy of the South East,” he said.
Nigerians hope that Atiku’s win will end their troubles and bring the PDP back to power. In order to address challenges in the region, it is necessary for the South East to strategically align and seize the opportunity of Atiku’s impending triumph.
Additionally, the region is interested in the election because Ifeanyi Okowa, an Igbo guy from Delta State, is running with Atiku.
“Atiku is the most competent, experienced, and well-respected candidate in this campaign because he was a previous vice president and is well-known in the nation’s political scene. To date, only he has promised to restructure Nigeria and distribute authority among its regions.
