On Thursday, the Court of Appeal upheld Jibrin Isah of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as senator for Kogi East. INEC declared Isah the victor of the Kogi East Senatorial District election, but the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate who came in second, Victor Adoji, contested Isah’s return in the tribunal on the grounds that polls were cancelled in several polling units. According to an official, the Oyo State Government has authorized a $1 billion credit facility for all kinds of farmers in the state, but only real farmers would profit from it. Alhaji Taofeek Akeugbagold, Executive Chairman of the Agricultural Credit Corporation of Oyo State (ACCOS), told reporters on Thursday in Ibadan that the facility is a low-interest credit. “This is to enable beneficiaries to expand their farming businesses and enhance the attraction of potential investors into the farming value chain,” he told the audience.
