Jigawa Government, 65,000 girls in the state have been immunized against the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV). Dr. Kabir Ibrahim, the Permanent Secretary of the Jigawa State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, revealed this on Friday. The immunization, according to Ibrahim, is intended to protect young girls aged nine to fourteen years against cervical cancer. He explained that the exercise was conducted simultaneously across the 27 local government areas of the state between Tuesday and Friday. Four people have reportedly lost their lives following an attack by bandits in Maru, located within the Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State. An indigene of the town, Mohammed Bawa, told TheSPECTATOR that the Emir of Maru, Abubakar Maigari, managed to escape when the bandits invaded his palace, but one of his guards was killed on the spot while others were injured. The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command announced the arrest of three individuals in Abuja for falsely reporting the disappearance of a male organ. Mr Garba Haruna, the Commissioner of Police in charge of the FCT, stated this to reporters on Wednesday in Abuja. He stated that the culprits were apprehended on Oct. 15 after receiving a distress call reporting that Alhaji Tijani Yakubu of Kabusa village was being killed by enraged youths. The Nigerian Army has informed citizens of Abuja that a combat simulation exercise would be held on Tuesday and Wednesday, October 25 and 26, 2023.
