The Nigerian Aviation Handling Company and the Skyway Aviation Handling Company Limited have raised cargo handling fees by 100%, which has caused disagreement among freight forwarders working in the country’s aviation and marine sectors.
The Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents vehemently opposed the decision, which was recently criticized by two cargo handling businesses, NAHCO and SAHCO.
Later, in opposition to the increase, ANCLA members suspended operations at the airport.
The president of another agents’ organization, the Africa Association of Professional Freight Forwarders and Logistics of Nigeria, Mr. Frank Ogunojemite, however, told journalists on Thursday in Ikeja, Lagos, that the association was not against the recent tariff increase by the aviation handling companies.
