Canadian rapper Drake has suffered yet another big-money gambling loss, this time losing $565,000 after betting on Tyson Fury to beat Oleksandr Usyk.
Drake, known for his high-stakes bets, revealed on Instagram prior to the fight that he had wagered the substantial amount on Fury securing a victory. If Fury had emerged victorious, Drake stood to collect just over $1 million.
However, the fight did not go as Drake had hoped. In a thrilling match held in Saudi Arabia, Usyk defeated Fury by split decision, making him the first undisputed heavyweight boxing champion in 24 years. Usyk’s victory allowed him to add Fury’s WBC title to his own WBA, IBF, and WBO belts.
This latest loss is part of a pattern for Drake, who has experienced several high-profile gambling defeats recently. He previously lost a six-figure sum after Anthony Joshua’s knockout win over Francis Ngannou, and another $700,000 following Dricus Du Plessis’ victory over Sean Strickland at UFC 297.
Despite these setbacks, Drake continues to indulge in his passion for gambling, often sharing his bets and the outcomes with his millions of followers on social media. While his recent losses have been significant, the rapper’s enthusiasm for high-stakes betting shows no signs of waning.
