Michael Owen, a former Manchester United and Newcastle United striker, praised Super Eagles player Ola Aina after he scored a ‘great goal’ in Nottingham Forest’s 2-0 Premier League win against Aston Villa over the weekend.
Forest defeated Aston Villa at home thanks to two goals from Aina and Orel Mangala.
“Actually, you’d expect a ball like this to be hit with the laces from that far out, 25 yards out, really,” Owen remarked on Premier League Productions. It’s a really controlled finish with the inside of his foot.
“I believe the ball was intended for Mangala rather than him.” I won’t blame him if he sought power. I believe that laces are utilized way too frequently in the game Particularly within the box.
“It just goes to show that you can get more power and accuracy by using the side of your foot.”
“It is a beautiful strike and hard enough to knock it past the goalkeeper.”
After defeating Aston Villa, Nottingham Forest moved up to 12th in the Premier League rankings, one place above Chelsea.
