The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Council (FCCPC) has reaffirmed its dedication to promoting the rights of all Nigerians, particularly Persons with Disabilities (PWDs). Speaking at a policy roundtable on financial inclusion for PWDs in Abuja, Deputy Director of Consumer and Business Education, Nwafor Anthony, emphasized the council’s commitment to fostering an inclusive environment where services are accessible to everyone without discrimination.
The event, organized by the Consumer Advocacy and Empowerment Foundation (CADEF), sought to address the barriers faced by PWDs in accessing digital financial services. CADEF’s Executive Director, Professor Chiso Ndukwe-Okafor, highlighted key challenges, such as inadequate infrastructure and a lack of supportive policies, that limit PWDs’ ability to engage fully in digital and financial spaces.
Nwafor praised CADEF’s efforts, pledging the FCCPC’s support for advancing rights and inclusivity, particularly through ongoing public campaigns. He reiterated that the FCCPC is actively working to ensure equal access to essential services and uphold consumer rights across Nigeria.
