France has strongly condemned Israel’s recent airstrikes in Lebanon, citing an alarming rise in civilian casualties, including dozens of children and women. In a statement issued by France’s Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, the nation expressed deep concern over the Israeli military’s ground incursions into southern Lebanon.
The French government emphasized that civilians—whether Lebanese or Israeli—must never be targeted, and called for an immediate halt to indiscriminate attacks. The Ministry reaffirmed France’s opposition to any potential Israeli ground operations in Lebanon, which it fears could lead to further escalation and regional destabilization.
France also urged Hezbollah and Iran to avoid actions that could exacerbate the situation, calling for restraint to prevent a broader conflict. At the same time, the Ministry condemned Hezbollah’s attacks on Israeli territory, stressing that acts of aggression from all sides must cease to restore peace and stability in the region.
