Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, the new governor of Osun State, has ordered that the name “State of Osun” be changed to the legally recognized Osun State right away.
In addition, he directed the change of the official State’s name from “State of the Virtues” to “State of the Living Spring.
Speaking shortly after Justice Adepele Ojo swore him in as the 6th civilian governor of Osun State on Sunday at the Osogbo Township Stadium, Governor Adeleke also directed the immediate freezing of all State government accounts in banks and other financial institutions.
He also ordered the immediate establishment of a panel to review all appointments and major decisions made by the Gboyega Oyetola administration after July 17, 2022, and he announced the immediate establishment of a panel to conduct an inventory and recover all government assets.
According to LEADERSHIP, Adeleke vowed to boldly correct any past injustice, corrupt acts, or policies that are against the collective interest of the people, as well as to meet the expectations of workers, traders, artisans, farmers, business owners, students, pensioners, and indeed all residents of Osun State.
