Babatunde Adekunle, a fraudster, was apprehended by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps in Kwara State Command for switching an elderly man’s ATM card and using it to take N1.8 million from the man’s account.
Umar Mohammed, the state commandant of the NSCDC, led Adekunle and six other suspects into a parade after they were arrested at Oloru in the state’s Moro Local Government Area with two trucks with railroad slippers.
Mohammed reported that Babatunde Adekunle, 41, was suspected of fraudulently switching his ATM card with an elderly man’s at one of the ATM locations in an Ilorin bank.
“Having swapped the card, he allegedly withdrew N1.8m from the account. The case was reported and the commandant mandated the tracking unit to arrest him,” he said.
Mohammed named the suspects as Yunusa Bello, 41, Sanni Taminu, 35, Sanusi Lawal, 25, Alhaji Makeri, 33, Lukman Sanni, 32, and Olabode Johnson, 41. The two lorries that were seized were filled with railway footwear.

He gave the public his word that the command would keep collaborating with its sister organizations to protect the lives and property of state citizens.
