Man defiles teenage neighbour’s nine-month-old baby
On Tuesday, an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court placed street urchin Adebayo Agboola, 27, in Kirikiri Correctional Center for allegedly defiling a neighbor’s nine-month-old infant.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria, the State Director of Public Prosecution was instructed by the Chief Magistrate, Mrs. E. Kubeinje, to provide legal counsel regarding the case file.
On May 5, she postponed the case.
Agboola, who resides in Lagos’ Ijora-Badia district, was accused of defiling.
Previously, DSP Kehinde Ajayi, the prosecutor’s attorney, informed the court that the crime was perpetrated on March 23 in the White Sand area of Ijora-Badia, Lagos.
According to Ajayi, the baby’s 16-year-old mother left her infant in Agboola’s care while she went nearby to buy noodles.
The prosecutor said that the offense was in violation of Section 137 of the Lagos State Criminal Code from 2015.
According to the clause, anyone found guilty of engaging in unlawful sexual activity with a kid faces a life sentence in jail.
