The auto policy, also known as the National Automotive Industry Development Plan (NAIDP), has been reviewed by the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC).

Director General, NADDC, Jelani Aliyu, dropped this clue yesterday during the 22nd Abuja Worldwide Engine Fair in Abuja.
Aliyu said that auto stakeholders had rated the revised policy as one of the best in the world.
He also said that a better policy document that was backed by law would make it more likely that the policy’s goals would be achieved, like switching from using imported second-hand tokunbo to local production of new, affordable vehicles in Nigeria and positioning Nigeria as a major vehicle manufacturing hub in Africa.
