On Saturday, Vice President Kashim Shettima visited the family of his late cousin Muktar Alkali in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State, to offer condolences.Olusola Abiola, the State House’s director of information for the Vice President’s office, made this known in a statement he published late on Saturday under the heading “VP Shettima represents condolences to the family of the late cousin.” The Vice President praised the late Alkali for his skills as a seasoned public administrator while visiting the family of the late Alkali with Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno and other top government officials.Later, they all united in praying for the deceased Alkali’s family. The dead was the former provost of Borno State College of Agriculture in Maiduguri. Prominent Nigerians, Muslim clerics, and traditional leaders were present at the gathering on Saturday.
The late Alkali, 57, who died on Friday, has been buried according to Islamic rites.
