A senior official has stated that since the beginning of Russia’s invasion, up to 13,000 Ukrainian soldiers have been killed.
An advisor to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Mykhailo Podolyak, stated that between 10,000 and 13,000 troops had perished.
Mr. Podolyak’s remarks have not been confirmed by the Ukrainian military, and neither Russia nor Ukraine typically publish casualty figures.
He stated in June that between 100 and 200 Ukrainian soldiers died each day.
Speaking to Ukrainian TV outlet Channel 24, Mr Podolyak said Kyiv was “openly talking about the number of the killed”.
“We have official evaluations by the General Staff, official evaluations by the commander-in-chief [Mr Zelensky], and they range from 10,000 to 12,500-13,000 killed,” he said.
