Godwin Emefiele, the suspended governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, pleaded not guilty on Tuesday to the alleged gun possession charge brought against him by the Federal Government.
Around 9:20 am, the tainted CBN boss came at the courthouse for his accused gun possession trial.
He is being tried for two charges of illegally owning the JOJEFF MAGNUM 8371 single-barrel shotgun.
According to The Spectator, the Department of State Services charged the suspended CBN governor with two counts of illegal procession of firearms and ammunition on July 13, 2023.
Emefiele was charged by the DSS with illegally owning a single-barrelled shotgun (JOJEFF MAGNUM 8371).
He was accused by the service of illegally possessing 23 cartridges (live ammunition) without a permit in the second count. Additionally, it is claimed that the offense violates Section 8 of the Firearms Act and is penalized in accordance with Section 27 (1)(b)(il) of the same Act.
